Rocky is an active, highly intelligent, lovable, huggable joy! He’s strong, muscular, and agile – built for work and play. He's a wonderful specimen of his breed, the Miniature American Shepherd, which is the only version of a miniature Australian-type shepherd accepted by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The Miniature American Shepherd shares many physical and personality traits with its forebear the Australian Shepherd, but on a smaller (and slightly cuter) scale.
Rocky has the standard shades of rich reddish brown and white fur in his red merle coat with tan points and characteristic marbling and flecks. His eyes are absolutely gorgeous – one is beautiful amber brown and the other is captivating ice blue. He stands 18 inches at the withers ("shoulders") and is over 30 lbs. – healthy, broad, and sturdy. Rocky is a true herding dog (he practices lovingly on his human siblings).
Rocky is AKC registered. He's energetic, versatile, and extremely bright – absolutely stunning in every way!
